"The education of even a small child, therefore, does not aim at preparing him for school, but for life."
– Dr. Maria Montessori
Dr. Maria Montessori, born in 1870, was the first woman in Italy to receive a medical degree. She worked in the fields of psychiatry, education and anthropology. She believed that each child is born with a unique potential to be revealed rather than as a “blank slate” waiting to be written upon. Her main contributions to raising and educating children are in these areas:
Cambridge Montessori Children's Center Inc., founded in BC, Canada, in 2007, provides a caring community that nurtures each child's natural curiosity for learning. Our program encourages the full development of social, emotional, physical, academic, artistic, and life skills. We instill lifelong learning in our children by allowing them to develop at their own pace, according to their unique needs. When in a friendly, clean, and safe environment inspires them to realize their full potential while enjoying life's journey.
Ms. Joyce is the Founder of Cambridge Montessori Children’s House in Burnaby (2007) and Cambridge Montessori Children’s Centre in New Westminster (2011). She continually updates her knowledge and skills through professional development courses and workshops. She has held valid Early Childhood Educator and First Aid (Child-safe) licenses since 2001. She admires the children’s natural love and curiosity for learning and works diligently to prepare the environment to meet the children’s individual needs. Her patient and calm demeanour, along with her passion for her work, helps establish a positive and respectful classroom as she honours Dr. Montessori’s philosophy, “Follow the child.”

Her enthusiasm, patience, and love create a warm, nurturing learning environment where children feel valued and inspired to reach their full potential. Her true passion lies in fostering independence, curiosity, and self-confidence in children, empowering them to take ownership of their learning while cultivating essential life skills for the future.
Ms. Anrie took Early Childhood Education in 2015 in Vancouver. She holds a Montessori Diploma from Montitute International. The most rewarding part of working with children is watching them learn, create, discover, and express their individuality in unique ways. While children are away from their family and home, it is essential to make them feel accepted, secure, safe, and loved, which is her goal in providing for them. She hopes to inspire, motivate, and guide all children entrusted to our care to the best of her ability. “All our handling of the child will bear fruit, not only at the moment but in the adult they are destined to become” – Maria Montessori. “ Train up a child the way he should go….” (Proverbs 22:6)
