The education of even a small child, therefore, does not aim at preparing him for school, but for life
– Dr. Maria Montessori
Dr. Maria Montessori, born in 1870, was the first woman in Italy to receive a medical degree. She worked in the fields of psychiatry, education and anthropology. She believed that each child is born with a unique potential to be revealed, rather than as a “blank slate” waiting to be written upon. Her main contributions to raising and educating children are in these areas:
Cambridge Montessori Children's Center Inc., founded in BC Canada in 2007, provides a caring community that nurtures each child’s natural curiosity for learning. Our program encourages the full development of social, emotional, physical, academic, artistic and life skills. We instill lifelong learning in our children by allowing them to develop at their own pace, according to their own unique needs. In a friendly, clean and safe environment, it inspires them to realize their full potential while enjoying life’s journey.

She continually updates her knowledge and skills through professional development courses and workshops. She has held valid Early Childhood Educator and First Aid (Child safe) licenses since 2001. She admires the children’s natural love and curiosity for learning and works diligently by preparing the environment to meet the children’s personal needs. Ms. Ana Maria, Cambridge Montessori Children’s House
Ms. Ana Maria took Early Childhood Education from Vancouver Career College in 2015-2016. The most rewarding part of working with children is watching and observing them learn, create, discover, and express their individuality in their own special way. While children are away from family and home, it is important to make them feel accepted, secure, safe and loved, which is her goal to provide to them. This is a new humbling learning experience to work with Cambridge Montessori as a full time teacher. She hopes to inspire, motivate, and guide all children entrusted to our care with the best of her ability.
“All our handling of the child will bear fruit, not only at the moment, but in the adult they are destined to become” – Maria Montessori
“ Train up a child the way he should go….” (Proverbs 22:6)
